Great Expectations

Great Expectations

Here is what you can expect of me as a player and as a host/narrator:

Player

My focus is heavily on the writing element of each game rather than the play of the game. I believe that the players should challenge themselves, the other players and the narrator by not only addressing the challenges but also introducing other story elements to enrich the game world. This may include introducing other plots/subplots, characters or other elements to expand the story and setting. I don't get upset if the narrator requests revisions if something I've written doesn't work with their vision of the story. I don't think of myself as a prima donna whose every word should be chiseled in stone. I want to improve as a writer and don't mind feedback and constructive criticism.

I love collaborating with other players on moves even if they never get used in the story. It's a great way to explore characters and give them even more depth.

Narrator/Host

Much of what I am as a player also translates over to my role as the narrator/host. I like to provide as much freedom for the players as possible which can be a bit daunting, but I also feel this gives the players the opportunity to show off their writing chops and challenges them to be creative. I can always request revisions if something doesn't quite work, but I very rarely have to.

I am very open to questions, suggestions and critique and will always try to help players to the best of my ability.
